The safety and well-being of our guests and staff are our top priorities. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience amidst the beautiful surroundings of Entebbe Forest Lodge, we have implemented essential safety protocols to protect both our clients and staff.
1. Hygiene Standards
- Hand Wash Stations: Upon arrival, guests are encouraged to sanitize their hands at the designated hand-wash basin in the reception area before proceeding to the main lounge.
- Staff Hygiene Practices: Our staff adheres to strict hygiene protocols, including regular handwashing and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe environment.
- Restaurant & Dining Area: A washbasin with hot and cold water is available in the dining area for guests to wash their hands using liquid soap and paper towels. Restaurant staff follow strict hygiene protocols, including regular handwashing and the use of protective gear during food preparation and service.
- Cabin Cleaning: Cabins are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before each new guest arrives, with extra attention to high-touch areas such as door handles, switches, and bathroom surfaces.
2. Fire Safety
- Fire Extinguishers: Fire extinguishers are strategically placed throughout the lodge, including inside cabins. Our staff is trained in fire safety and emergency response procedures.
- Fire Drills & Safety Checks: Regular fire drills and safety inspections are conducted to ensure preparedness for any emergency.
3. Forest Safety
- Wildlife Awareness: Guests receive guidance on safely interacting with the forest environment, particularly regarding wildlife encounters and unfamiliar terrain.
- Trail Safety: Well-maintained walking trails lead to guest cabins and nature walk routes. Before each nature walk, guests receive a safety briefing and are advised to stay on marked trails and avoid wandering off-path.
4. Health Monitoring & First Aid
- Guest Health Awareness: Guests are requested to inform us if they feel unwell before or during their stay. Our staff is trained to handle health concerns discreetly and appropriately.
- First Aid: A fully stocked first aid kit is available on the property, and staff members are trained in basic first aid and emergency response.
5. Security
- The lodge is secured with 24-hour security personnel to ensure a safe and private environment for all guests.
6. Malaria Prevention
- Malaria Risk: Entebbe Forest Lodge is located in an area where malaria is present.
- Preventive Measures: Guests are advised to take anti-malaria medication before traveling (some medications require use before arrival).
- Protection at the Lodge: All cabins are equipped with mosquito nets, and mosquito repellents are available.
7. Safety in Nature
By following our safety guidelines, guests can enjoy the natural environment responsibly. We kindly remind guests that we are visitors in this ecosystem and must respect its flora and fauna at all times. Do not touch, feed, or approach any wild animal.
8. Additional Health Tip
Given the tropical climate, it is essential to stay hydrated. The lodge provides safe drinking water, and guests are encouraged to drink plenty of fluids.
